Turmoil in Venezuela and Iran
There is a lot of turmoil in Venezuela and Iran here at the very start of 2026 and let me be clear. It is only the people of those countries that have the right to determine their future and they deserve to do so without outside intervention.
But...
...the first thing to note is that the most outside intervention in both of these countries comes from the US and it's allies in the Yankee Bloc of countries. Economic sanctions from the US and EU cause untold misery, desperation, and death1 and the fact that countries like Iran and Venezuela are subjected to these but countries like Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and Israel are not is enough to prove how self serving and immoral these actions are. They have always been the height of hypocrisy and it's always been obvious to most outside of the Yankee Bloc countries, but now increasingly, within them as well.
The second thing is that I do not want to live and I do not want my children to live in a world where any country can just unilaterally go into any other and target whatever building it wants for destruction and target any individual it wants for kidnapping, or worse such as what Israel has done to so many of its neighbours and the US has done to Venezuela. At least the pretense of International Law provided some protection but that has been sacrificed on the altar of Zionism since the end of 2023. The UNSC, the ICC, the ICJ, and the Geneva convention itself, are all now completely meaningless as Israel and the US violate whatever sovereignty they wish to whatever extent they wish and other countries humiliate themselves by going along with it.
I wish Venezuelans and Iranians nothing but the best and I want them to have self-determination without being pushed around by the unworthy superpower that is the United States of America and its equally unworthy proxies. I want that not only for them but also for every other peoples on the planet, including my own. But their seemingly endless evil will need to be matched with unrelenting resolve from the rest of us.
